A record-breaking number of elite runners have signed up for IAAF/Mikkeller World Cross Country Championships at Moesgaard Museum in Aarhus on 30 March. Right after the deadline of the elite registration, the organizers conclude that the championships have already broken records. For both men, women, U20 and relays the numbers are higher than ever before.
Two years ago, the championship was staged in the capital of Uganda, Kampala. At that time, 146 senior men came to start. In Aarhus, 174 men have registered. 124 women will start in Aarhus, in Kampala 104 competed. Likewise, there is an increase in registrations among the U20 runners and the relays.
Denmark has prepared for an epic course that will take the runners over the grass roof the museum and into the woods and hilly surroundings.
In addition to the elite races and the relays, recreational runners also have the opportunity to run on the championships course. In addition, His Royal Highness The Crown Prince of Denmark has announced his arrival and participation in a relay. Mass race participants still have the opportunity to sign up and become a part of the festive celebration of cross-country running.
